INSTITUTE FOR COGNITIVE SCIENCE
An institute for the study of mind
Main Topics

The Institute for Cognitive Science is a research center planned and built by CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique). Its main objective is to develop interdisciplinary research on the mechanisms of cognition. The choice has been made to priviledge natural aspects of cognition, those which pertain to biological systems, and specially the human brain.

This choice is justified by the potential impact of research in cognitive science on such problems as access to knowledge, cognitive development and cognitive dysfunctioning. Researchers specialized in the various fields of cognitive science including psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, philosophy and mathematical modeling, have joined the Institute.
